Pumpkin Spice Donuts

If fall had a taste, it would be these delicious little donuts! This Pumpkin Spice Donut recipe is a must-have on your fall food rotation. They are baked (NOT fried), so you can feel good about eating these in the morning. They’re almost like a pumpkin muffin…but the round donut shape makes them perfect for dunking in your PSL!  Member’s Mark™ Pumpkin Spice Seasoning adds the perfect “pumpkiny” blend of spices that makes these donuts so special (in case you were wondering, the blend consists of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, allspice, mace, and cloves).

Tips for Baking Donuts

Here are some helpful tips for baking donuts so they turn out light, tender, and flavorful:

1. Use the right pan

  • A nonstick donut pan helps release donuts easily.

  • Grease the pan lightly, even if it’s nonstick, to prevent sticking.

2. Don’t overmix the batter

  • Stir just until combined—overmixing can make donuts dense and tough.

3. Piping is easier than spooning

  • Transfer batter into a piping bag (or zip-top bag with the corner snipped) to neatly fill the donut molds about 2/3 full. This helps them bake evenly.

4. Mind the leavening

  • Baking powder is usually the key to fluffy donuts. Make sure yours is fresh for the best rise.

5. Watch the bake time

  • Baked donuts cook quickly (usually 8–12 minutes). Pull them out as soon as a toothpick comes out clean—overbaking makes them dry.

6. Cool before glazing

  • Let donuts cool fully on a wire rack before dipping in glaze, otherwise it will melt right off.

7. Add moisture if needed

  • Brushing warm donuts lightly with melted butter before coating with cinnamon sugar or dipping in glaze can keep them soft and flavorful.

8. Store correctly

  • Baked donuts are best the day they’re made but can be kept in an airtight container at room temperature for 1–2 days. Warm briefly in the microwave to refresh.
