Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

There’s nothing quite like the smell of fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies filling the kitchen, and these Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies take the classic favorite to the next level. With crisp, golden edges, soft and chewy centers, and pools of melty chocolate, this recipe is everything you love about homemade cookies with one simple upgrade: rich, nutty brown butter. Whether you’re baking for a family gathering, holiday cookie exchange, or simply satisfying a sweet craving, these cookies are guaranteed to disappear fast.

What makes this recipe stand out is the magic of brown butter. By gently cooking Member’s Mark™ Unsalted Sweet Cream Butter until nutty, the butter develops a deep, toasted flavor with notes of caramel and toffee that elevate every bite. Brown butter has become a favorite among bakers because it adds incredible depth and complexity to cookies without requiring any extra ingredients. Combined with Member’s Mark™ All Purpose Flour, Member’s Mark™ Brown Sugar, Member’s Mark™ Granulated Sugar, and plenty of chocolate chips, the result is a cookie that’s perfectly balanced- rich, chewy, buttery, and packed with chocolate. The recipe also relies on Clabber Girl® Baking Soda and Clabber Girl® Baking Powder, two baking essentials that help create the ideal texture. The baking soda provides the perfect rise and encourages beautifully golden edges, while the cornstarch helps produce a soft, tender center that stays chewy long after the cookies have cooled.

The process is easier than you might think. After browning the butter, it’s mixed with the remaining ingredients to create a dough that’s full of flavor before it even reaches the oven. As the cookies bake, the edges become lightly crisp while the centers stay soft and tender, creating that bakery-style texture everyone loves. Like many of the best cookie recipes, it relies on quality ingredients and a simple technique to create unforgettable results.

One of the best things about these cookies is how versatile they are. Enjoy them warm with a glass of milk, sandwich a scoop of vanilla ice cream between two cookies, or package them up as thoughtful homemade gifts. You can also customize each batch by adding chopped pecans, walnuts, toffee bits, or a sprinkle of flaky sea salt for an extra pop of flavor. They freeze beautifully, making them perfect for baking ahead or keeping cookie dough on hand whenever the craving strikes.

Rich, buttery, and loaded with melty chocolate, these Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies showcase how a handful of Member’s Mark™ baking staples can transform a timeless classic into a bakery-worthy treat you’ll want to make again and again.
