The holidays are approaching, and chances are that you have someone on your list who’s just a little tricky to buy for! At The Real Kitchen, we believe that you just can’t go wrong with kitchen accessories. We’re not talking fancy, expensive, and trendy gadgets that usually end up being tossed after a couple years (when is the last time you used that bread maker)? We are talking about simple, tried and true items that are used on a regular basis. A lot of people already have some or all of these tools in their kitchen, but that’s ok! Everyone could use an update/upgrade!
Here is our list of 5 handy kitchen essentials and links for purchasing. Some of these ideas might remind you that you need to replace items in your kitchen, too!
#1 Wooden Cooking Utensils
Wooden utensils are great, but they can get a little worn out. We don’t think anyone would be sad about receiving this awesome spoon, spatula, and ladle set!
#2 Measuring Spoons that Fit in Spice Jars
Imagine this: your recipe calls for 2 tablespoons of a spice, but your measuring spoon won’t fit in the jar. You end up having to use the ¼ tsp size, but then you lose count…and you mess up the whole recipe. Maybe that’s only happened to us before…but spoons that fit in spice jars are a must.
#3 Glass Measuring Cups
Use these to measure liquids without worrying about overflowing. You can also use them in the microwave, and use the larger sizes as mixing bowls! Just believe us when we say they are life-changing.
#4 Handheld Citrus Juicer
TV chefs always artfully squeeze a lemon into their hands and then somehow drip the juice into the recipe without getting the seeds mixed in. We’ll just take this handy juicer instead! It’s inexpensive, doesn’t take up much room, and will save you the time and the hassle!
#5 Silicone Baking Mat
Parchment paper is great for providing a non-stick surface on your baking sheets, but a silicone baking mat something every kitchen needs. Not only is it reusable, but NOTHING sticks to it. Plus, you’ll notice your food will bake much more evenly. You’ll want to get a couple of these!
