Kansas City BBQ Sauce
One of the top cities known for their take on barbecue is Kansas City! Kansas City, KC, differs from southern barbecue by making almost any meat fair game. Pork, chicken, and beef are all popular KC barbecue favorites.
Ingredients
- 5 tbsp Butter
- ½ Medium onion finely chopped
- 4 Garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 2 cups Heinz® Ketchup
- ½ cup Apple juice
- ½ cup Bragg® Apple Cider Vinegar
- ½ cup Member's Mark™ Light Brown Sugar
- 3 tbsp Weber® Kick 'N Chicken Seasoning
- 2 tbsp Member's Mark™ Chili Powder
- ¼ tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Member's Mark™ Cayenne Pepper
Instructions
- Heat the butter in a pot over medium heat for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Add the onion and sauté until it begins to brown. Add the garlic and sauté for another 2 minutes.
- Pour in the remaining ingredients and stir well to combine. Simmer slowly for at least 30 minutes, and up to 2 hours.
- Dip, pour, or cook it with your favorite BBQ meat and you're all set!
