Walking Taco

These Walking Tacos, aka Frito Pies, are a perfect on-the-go food for get-togethers! Make this for game day and you will have everyone satisfied. The ingredients go right into the chip bags so everyone can customize them to their liking.

  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 1 packet Ortega Taco Seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp Members Mark™ Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 can Diced tomatoes & green chilies like Ro-Tel®
  • 1 can Ranch Style beans
  • 5 packages Corn Chips like Fritos®
  • Toppings of your choice: shredded cheddar, sour cream, green onions, etc.


  • In a large skillet, cook beef over medium heat until no longer pink, breaking into crumbles, 6-8 minutes; drain.
  • Stir in taco seasoning mix, pepper, tomatoes and beans; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, until thickened, 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Just before serving, cut open corn chip bags. Add beef mixture and toppings.
