Salmon and Avocado BLT Sandwich

Who doesn’t love a BLT?  There’s something about that combo that is just so summery.  However, unless you put mounds of bacon on your sandwich, you might be left feeling a little hungry after eating one.  Sometimes they call for something a little more substantial to be added on!  That’s why we love this Salmon and Avocado BLT Sandwich!  Grilled salmon makes the sandwich more filling/interesting, while avocado adds another fresh summer element.  This sandwich uses Weber® Roasted Garlic & Herb Seasoning on the salmon as well as in the mayo, but you can feel free to try any of your favorite Weber® seasonings!

Looking for some other ideas to jazz up a simple BLT?  Give some of these options a whirl:

1. California BLT

  • Ingredients: Bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado, and mayonnaise.
  • Details: Add creamy avocado slices for a fresh, California-inspired twist.

2. Turkey BLT

  • Ingredients: Bacon, lettuce, tomato, turkey slices, and mayonnaise.
  • Details: Add slices of roasted turkey for a more filling, protein-packed sandwich.

3. Egg BLT

  • Ingredients: Bacon, lettuce, tomato, fried or poached egg, and mayonnaise.
  • Details: Top the classic BLT with a runny egg for a breakfast-inspired sandwich.

4. Chicken BLT

  • Ingredients: Bacon, lettuce, tomato, grilled chicken, and ranch dressing.
  • Details: Add grilled or crispy chicken for a heartier meal.

5. BLT Wrap

  • Ingredients: Bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado, and ranch dressing in a tortilla wrap.
  • Details: Roll everything into a tortilla for a portable and lighter option.

6. Vegetarian BLT (VLT)

  • Ingredients: Lettuce, tomato, avocado, tempeh or eggplant bacon, and vegan mayo.
  • Details: Replace bacon with tempeh or eggplant for a meatless version.

7. Caprese BLT

  • Ingredients: Bacon, lettuce, tomato, fresh mozzarella, basil, and balsamic glaze.
  • Details: Combine the BLT with the classic flavors of a Caprese salad

8. BLT Caesar

  • Ingredients: Bacon, lettuce, tomato, parmesan, and Caesar dressing.
  • Details: Toss the lettuce with Caesar dressing and add parmesan for a Caesar salad-inspired sandwich.

Salmon and Avocado BLT Sandwich

BLTs are wonderful, but do they ever leave you feeling a little hungry? Try adding grilled salmon and avocado onto your sandwich! It will take it from OK to AMAZING!

Ingredients
  

  • 2 tbsp + 1-2 tsp Weber® Roasted Garlic & Herb Seasoning
  • 1/4 cup Mayonnaise
  • 8 slices Thick bacon, cooked until crispy
  • 4 (3.4-4 oz) Salmon filets, skin removed
  • 4 Buns of your choice
  • 4 pieces Large leaf lettuce
  • 4 Roma tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 Large avocado, sliced thinly
  • Member's Mark™ Black Pepper Grinder, as desired

Instructions
 

  • In a small bowl, combine the Weber® Roasted Garlic & Herb Seasoning and mayonnaise. Set aside.
  • Preheat your grill to 400 to 450℉.
  • Pat the salmon dry with a towel. Sprinkle 1-2 tsp of Weber® Roasted Garlic & Herb Seasoning over the salmon.
  • Place the salmon on the grill. Close the lid and cook for 6 to 8 minutes, until it’s opaque and pink. Remove the salmon and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  • While the salmon is on the grill, you can also place the buns on the grill for 1 to 2 minutes per side.
  • Assemble sandwich by spreading the desired amount of mayonnaise onto the bottom bun, then a piece of lettuce, the salmon, bacon, avocado, and tomato. You can also sprinkle the desired amount of Member's Mark™ Black Pepper Grinder onto the sandwich before placing on the top bun.
