Technique for Making Halloween Feet Loaf
-
Mix the meatloaf
Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix gently — don’t overwork it, or it’ll be dense. -
Shape into feet
On a parchment-lined baking sheet, divide the mixture into two portions.-
Shape each into a foot shape — wider at the front, narrow at the heel.
-
Use your fingers or a spoon to indent toes at the front (5 small mounds).
-
-
Add creepy details
-
Press a half onion wedge at the back of each “ankle” to look like a protruding bone.
-
Add almond slices or onion pieces to the ends of the toes for toenails.
-
Optionally press lines or knuckle shapes for extra realism.
-
-
Glaze & bake
-
Brush with ketchup or BBQ sauce for color and “bloody” shine.
-
Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 45–55 minutes, until cooked through (internal temp 160°F).
-
-
Finish the gore
-
Once baked, add more ketchup “blood” around the ankles and toenails before serving.
-
Serve on a platter with mashed potatoes or roasted “vegetable guts.”
-
