Spooky Ghost Pizza

Pizza is the perfect pre-trick-or-treating meal – especially when it features scrumptious, cheesy ghosts! Looking to make it even spookier? Black olive spiders add a creepy touch!  Member’s Mark™ Italian Herb Grinder adds just a touch more flavor to your pizza – you’ll love the blend of classic Italian herbs and spices, including garlic, basil, and oregano.

Want to Make Homemade Pizza Dough? Here’s How!

Ingredients:

  • 2½ cups all-purpose flour, plus a little extra for kneading
  • 1 cup warm water – warm, not hot (about 105–110°F)
  • 2¼ teaspoons yeast – one standard packet
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt

1.Mix the warm water, sugar, and yeast in a bowl. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy. If using instant yeast, you can mix it directly with the flour instead.

2. Add the flour, salt, and olive oil. Stir until a rough ball of dough forms.

3. Knead on a lightly floured counter for about 5–8 minutes, until the dough feels smooth and stretchy. Add flour a little at a time if it’s too sticky.

4. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl and cover it. Let it rise in a warm spot for 1–1½ hours, until roughly doubled in size.

5. Press or stretch the dough into a round crust. This recipe makes one large, thick pizza or two smaller, thinner pizzas.

No Ghost Cookie Cutter? No Problem!

1. Chill the cheese – keep the slices cold so they’re firm and easier to cut without tearing.

2. Cut out the ghosts – press a small ghost-shaped cookie cutter firmly through each slice. No cutter? Use a knife to cut a rounded head, sloping shoulders, and a wavy bottom.

3. Add little eyes – use a drinking straw to punch two tiny holes, or add tiny dots of black olive for eyes.

If you’re using thin sandwich cheese, stack two slices together before cutting to make the ghosts easier to handle. For the cleanest shapes, a small metal cookie cutter works best!

  • 1-2 cups Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 6 slices Provolone cheese
  • Sliced black olives for ghost eyes and spiders (optional)

  • Using a ghost-shaped cookie cutter, cut each slice of provolone cheese. Place the ghosts evenly around the pizza.
  • Place olives on ghost faces to create eyes and a mouth. If desired, use whole black olives with olive slices on the sides to make spiders.
