Dash™ Deviled Eggs

Deviled eggs are a classic side or brunch dish – but why not add a little more flavor (and NO salt)? Try using either Dash™ Original or Dash™ Garlic & Herb Seasoning to create a deviled egg dish that no one will be able to resist!

This recipe jumps right into making the “fun part” of the deviled eggs, but in case you need to brush up on your hard-boiling skills, we’ve got you covered!  Here’s a couple methods you can use to get the job done:

Classic Stovetop Method:

  1. Arrange your eggs in a single layer at the bottom of a saucepan or pot.
  2. Add enough cold water to the pot to cover the eggs by about an inch or so.
  3. Place the pot on the stove over high heat and bring the water to a rolling boil.
  4. Once the water is boiling, reduce the heat to medium-high to maintain a gentle simmer.
  5. Cook the eggs for about 9-12 minutes, depending on your desired level of doneness. For hard-boiled eggs, aim for about 10-12 minutes.
  6. Once the eggs are cooked to your desired level, immediately transfer them to a bowl of ice water using a slotted spoon. This helps stop the cooking process and makes the eggs easier to peel.
  7. Once the eggs are cool enough to handle, gently tap them against a hard surface to crack the shell, then peel away the shell and enjoy your hard-boiled eggs!

Instant Pot Method:

  1. Place a trivet in the bottom of your Instant Pot and add 1 cup of water.
  2. Arrange the eggs on the trivet.
  3. Seal the Instant Pot and set it to cook on high pressure for 5 minutes for firm yolks, or 6 minutes for fully firm yolks.
  4. Once the cooking cycle is complete, do a quick release of the pressure and carefully transfer the eggs to an ice bath.
  5. Peel and enjoy your Instant Pot hard-boiled eggs.

Baking Method:

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).
  2. Place your eggs in a muffin tin or directly on the oven rack.
  3. Bake the eggs for about 30 minutes.
  4. Once done, transfer the eggs to an ice bath to cool down quickly.
  5. Peel and enjoy.

Air Fryer Method:

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 270°F (130°C). This preheating step is essential for ensuring even cooking.
  2. Place the eggs in the air fryer basket. You can cook as many eggs as can fit in a single layer without overcrowding.
  3. Cook the eggs in the preheated air fryer for 15 minutes. This cooking time may vary slightly depending on your air fryer model and the size of the eggs. Adjust the time as needed.
  4. Once the cooking time is up, carefully remove the eggs from the air fryer basket using tongs and transfer them to a bowl filled with ice water. This helps stop the cooking process and makes the eggs easier to peel.
  5. After the eggs have cooled down in the ice bath for a few minutes, gently tap them against a hard surface to crack the shell, then peel away the shell and enjoy your hard-boiled eggs!

Tips:

  • Older eggs tend to peel more easily than fresh ones.
  • You can add a splash of vinegar to the water, which may help prevent the eggs from cracking while they cook and makes them easier to peel.
  • Using a timer can help ensure that your eggs are cooked to your desired level of doneness.
