Weber® Ultimate Garlic Shrimp Zoodle Bowl

When you’re on the hunt for a recipe that is healthy, fresh, fast, and won’t weigh you down – this Weber® Ultimate Garlic Shrimp Zoodle Bowl is it! While the term “zoodle” might sound like some kind of kid’s pool toy, we can assure you that it is a perfectly acceptable food for both kids and adults to enjoy. “Zoodle” is simply a fun term for zucchini noodles. They’re are a popular low-carb alternative to traditional pasta noodles, and are made by spiralizing or cutting zucchini into long, thin strands, resembling spaghetti noodles.

Zoodles are often used in dishes like pasta salads, stir-fries, and noodle bowls as a lighter, vegetable-based option. They’re a great way to incorporate more vegetables into your diet while still enjoying your favorite noodle dishes.

If you don’t already have a spiralizer hiding somewhere in your kitchen, we suggest you invest in one now!  This handy little gadget will create the noodle shape for your zucchini (it is pretty much impossible to do this without a spiralizer).  Don’t limit the spiralizer to just zucchini, though!  Here’s some other ways to use the spiralizer:

  1. Sweet Potato Noodles: Spiralized sweet potatoes make a nutritious and colorful alternative to pasta. They can be used in stir-fries, salads, or even baked into crispy fries.
  2. Carrot Noodles: Carrots spiralized into long strands can add crunch and sweetness to salads, slaws, or stir-fries.
  3. Cucumber Ribbons: Spiralized cucumbers can be used to make refreshing salads or to add a decorative touch to dishes.
  4. Beet Noodles: Spiralized beets add vibrant color and earthy flavor to salads, grain bowls, or even as a garnish for soups.
  5. Apple or Pear Ribbons: Spiralized apples or pears can be used to make visually appealing fruit salads or to top oatmeal or yogurt.
  6. Butternut Squash Noodles: Spiralized butternut squash can be roasted or sautéed and served as a side dish or as a base for sauces and toppings.
  7. Radish Noodles: Spiralized radishes add a peppery kick to salads or can be pickled for a tangy condiment.
  8. Onion Strings: Spiralized onions can be used to make crispy onion strings for topping burgers or salads.
  9. Bell Pepper Strips: Spiralized bell peppers can be used in fajitas, stir-fries, or as a crunchy topping for sandwiches.

These are just a few examples, but the possibilities with a spiralizer are virtually endless. It’s a fun and creative way to incorporate more fruits and vegetables into your meals.  We’ve linked a mid-priced spiralizer in the recipe below, but if you’re looking for more options, this article goes more in-depth.
