Air Fryer Hot Honey Chicken Wings

Football season is all about chicken wings, but by the time the big game rolls around, it’s way too cold to stand outside at the grill! That’s why we can’t get enough of these Hot Honey Chicken Wings – they’re made in the air fryer, so the wings are still crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Member’s Mark™ Cayenne Pepper adds a kick of spice – but trust us, it’s not TOO hot.  You can always adjust the amount of cayenne to your liking – if you like your wings fiery, then go ahead and double it up!

Now let’s talk a little bit about the air fryer – your new favorite wintertime way to cook chicken wings!

Chicken Wings in the Air Fryer – Tips and Tricks

  1. Pat Wings Dry – Use paper towels to remove as much moisture as possible. This is key to getting crispy skin.
  2. Coat with Baking Powder & Spices – Toss wings in a bowl with baking powder, salt, pepper, and your spices. The baking powder helps create a crispy crust by drawing out moisture.
  3. Preheat the Air Fryer – Set your air fryer to 400°F for 5 minutes before cooking.
  4. Arrange Wings in a Single Layer – Do NOT overcrowd the basket. Give the wings space so air circulates evenly.
  5. Cook at 400°F for 20 Minutes – Shake the basket every 5-7 minutes to ensure even cooking.
  6. Rest for 5 Minutes – Let the wings sit for a few minutes before serving to allow the skin to crisp up even more.

Why Use an Air Fryer for Chicken Wings?

Using an air fryer for chicken wings is a game-changer because it gives you crispy, delicious wings without the hassle (or mess) of deep frying. Here’s why it’s the best method:

1. Extra Crispy Without Deep Frying

  • The hot circulating air crisps up the wings just like deep frying but without submerging them in oil.
  • Using baking powder or cornstarch helps mimic the crunchy texture of fried wings.

2. Healthier Option

  • Air frying requires little to no oil, so you cut down on fat and calories while still getting crispy wings.

3. Faster & More Convenient

  • No need to preheat an oven or deal with oil splatter from deep frying.
  • Wings cook in about 20-ish minutes, much faster than baking.

4. Less Mess & Easy Cleanup

  • No dealing with used oil or greasy stovetops.
  • Most air fryer baskets are dishwasher-safe, making cleanup a breeze.

5. Juicy Inside, Crispy Outside

  • Air fryers lock in moisture, keeping the meat tender while crisping up the skin.

So, if you love wings but hate the hassle of frying (or waiting forever for them to bake), the air fryer is your best bet! 🍗🔥
