Check ours out below!

Making BBQ brisket is a rewarding process that involves a bit of patience and care, but the result is a delicious, tender, and flavorful piece of meat. Here’s a basic guide to help you make BBQ brisket:

Ingredients

  • 1 whole beef brisket (about 10-12 pounds)
  • 1/4 cup yellow mustard
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup Four Sixes™ Bunkhouse Campfire Seasoning

Instructions

1. Prepare the Brisket:

  • Trim excess fat from the brisket, leaving a thin layer of fat for flavor and moisture.
  • Rub the entire brisket with a thin layer of yellow mustard. This helps the rub adhere and adds flavor.
  • Apply Four Sixes™ Bunkhouse Campfire Seasoning evenly over the brisket, pressing it into the meat.

2. Preheat Your Smoker or Grill:

  • If using a smoker, preheat it to 225°F. Use wood chips or chunks like oak, hickory, or mesquite for a nice smoky flavor.
  • If using a grill, set it up for indirect heat. For a charcoal grill, place coals on one side of the grill and the brisket on the other side. For a gas grill, turn on only one side and place the brisket on the other.

3. Cook the Brisket:

  • Place the brisket on the smoker or grill, fat side up.
  • Smoke or cook the brisket for about 1 to 1.5 hours per pound, or until it reaches an internal temperature of about 195°F to 205°F . This can take anywhere from 10 to 14 hours.
  • Optionally, wrap the brisket in butcher paper or aluminum foil halfway through the cooking process to help retain moisture.

4. Rest the Brisket:

  • Once the brisket reaches the desired temperature, remove it from the heat and let it rest for at least 30 minutes. This helps the juices redistribute throughout the meat.

5. Slice and Serve:

  • Slice the brisket against the grain into 1/4-inch thick slices.
  • Serve with your favorite BBQ sauce on the side or brush some sauce over the slices before serving.
