Gossip Ghoul: The Ultimate Halloween Food Spread

Halloween is near, and we are ready to gossip all about it!  What’s on our mind right now?  Creating the ULTIMATE HALLOWEEN FOOD SPREAD!  We are talking snacks, desserts, treats, drinks, and some options that could even pass as a pre-trick-or-treating meal!  We know that Halloween is a busy time and you don’t want to spend hours putting together a bunch of crazy recipes (yes, they look cool, but our aim here is simple).  We also know that the frenzy between putting on Halloween costumes and running out the door doesn’t leave you with a lot of time to sit down and eat an entire feast.  That’s why we’re so excited to share some of these easy yet BEWITCHING recipes with you! (You might notice that we’re leaving out sweet dessert-type treats such as cupcakes, cookies, cakes, puddings, etc….we feel like there is enough candy on Halloween so it’s ok to leave dessert off the menu!)

Snacks

These snack options are not only great for your Halloween party table, but also for school parties, gatherings, or even to hand out to trick-or-treaters!  (we know homemade goods are not the norm, but if you are handing out some treats to close neighbors and friends, we think homemade is fine)!

  • Fall Spice Kettle Corn smells wonderful and tastes awesome!  It also makes a good treat to bring along to football games and other fall activities.
  • Ghouslishly Good Pumpkin Spice Snack Mix is a combo of sweet and salty goodies, like popcorn, pretzels, Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal, M&Ms, and teeny tiny marshmallows.
  • Creamy Pumpkin Dip is surprisingly sweet and versatile.  Marshmallow creme balances out the pumpkin flavor (think more sweet than savory).  Serve with apples, cookies, graham crackers, and more for a delicious fall treat.
  • Sweet and Salty Roasted Pumpkin Seeds are a great way to get some use out of all those pumpkin guts you scoop out!  Be sure to let the seeds dry out for a day before roasting!
  • Check out this eye-opening Pumpkin Snack Board, featuring our favorite orange ingredient – cheese!
  • Graveyard Chocolate Cheesecake Dip is a super spooky (and sweet) way to draw some attention to your snack table.

Food that Can Almost Count as Dinner

The goal on Halloween is to eat something that could qualify as dinner, is festive, and doesn’t require a lot of prep time.  Now, on a normal night of the year, you may not feel great about serving hot dogs and French bread pizza for dinner…but Halloween isn’t a normal night of the year!  Go ahead and try one of these simply spooky meal choices:

  • The idea of serving a severed foot for dinner might leave you feeling a little queasy, but this hilarious Feet Loaf tastes like its awesome namesake, meat loaf!
  • Mummy Dogs are simply hot dogs wrapped in sloppily formed Pillsbury crescent roll dough – this one is fun for the kids to make!
  • These French Bread Mummy Pizzas are completely customizable, not to mention adorable!
  • Stuffed “jack-o-lanterns” (orange bell peppers) are a fun way to get a few nutrients in before trick-or-treating!
  • These Monster Avocado Toasts look like mini Frankensteins!
  • Witch Hat Calzones make the perfect grab-and-go meal.

Do Yourself a Favor and Try These Drinks!

Grab a portable drink container and take one of these drinks to go while you’re trick-or-treating!

Breakfast for Halloween?  Why Not!

Maybe you’re a breakfast-for-dinner type person (we know we are) or maybe you feel like starting the day off in a special way.  Whatever the reason, here are some breakfast choices to start your day off in a spooky way!

Hopefully this has helped you plan your Halloween menu.  What will you be making on the spookiest night of the year?

XOXO,

Gossip GHOUL
